February Note from the Editor-at-Large...
Welcome to February! Spring is just around the corner - at least that is what the Ground Hog told me earlier this month. With spring comes warmer weather, new life and Corvettes on the roadways.

Our first parade of the year is scheduled for March 7th. The St Patrick’s Day parade is a great event where everyone is a little bit Irish for a few hours. We are continuing our plan of trying to put together a 4th of July parade for this year, more information to come.

By now you all should have received your NCCC packets. Did you notice the NCCC is 50 years old? It’s nice to know we have been running longer than the council has been in existence. It offers us another opportunity to celebrate the 50 year mark, only this time with all the clubs of the NCCC. We had such a great time celebrating in 2008, and now we get to do it all over again on a larger scale!

Have you noticed we have been changing our web page? If you haven’t had a chance, please take a look. The web-page has a new feature; you can now put in your last three numbers of your NCCC#, your last name and find our own members. This feature is only available for our members. Try it out! If you have any additional ideas of what should be added, please let us know. A special thanks goes to Bill Sullivan and Jon Kurtz, they have worked hard to incorporate new ideas with a new look and make sure the changes worked correctly. We continue to ask for any pictures from the past and/or present that can be added to the web-page.

Lastly, Bob Ashton who was the point person of Chevy VetteFest lost his job with the Championship Auto shows. Many of us who had the pleasure of working directly with Bob are still in shock. Bob worked harder than anyone I know to make Chevy VetteFest a success for all who attended. In addition, we have not heard what is going to happen with the show, we’ll keep you posted as more information becomes available. This was just another reminder of how much we need the friendship and support of our fellow club members. I would like to extend a personal invitation to all club members to sign-up for the upcoming St Patrick’s Day parade and start the year off right by getting to know your fellow club members better.

- John Baldo, Editor-at-Large
