  Message From the President
Let me start by saying thank you for the opportunity to serve as your club president.  I’m excited about the upcoming year!  The Officers and I have already begun making plans that will provide plenty of fun.  We would like to try some new things this year, as well as, include many of the past events which have been so successful.

On January 17th, we had our first Officers meeting, it was very productive and I’m proud to work with such great individuals.   While we have many plans in place, we are also looking for any suggestions and/or ideas.   I know it can be a cliché, but my door is always open, so feel free to contact me either by phone or e-mail.   The other Officers and I would also like to ask all of you to welcome new members you can begin by just introducing yourself to those you don’t know at meetings or other events.  Did you know our club grew last year to be the largest club in the Midwest region?  This is a huge accomplishment as a Club! In addition, we ranked #11 for Midwest points in 2009.  Again Bravo to all of you!

The 2011 National Convention is coming to the Chicago land in June 2011, one week prior to Bloomington Gold. We have been asked by the host club and the region to join in and help to make the convention a huge success.  There are many events and staff issues for us to participate in.  If you would like to get involved, please let me know.  I would love to discuss how you might best use your talents/skills and passions to help out.

I realize I know many of you already, but I’m looking forward to getting to know each of you individually this upcoming year.  We have all come from many different places in life and have so much to offer each other, as well as, our community. I’m so grateful for our common bond of America's sport car the Corvette which has brought us all together.

Mike Yager Chief Cheerleader at Mid America Motorworks
As you may have heard, in December the Chief Cheerleader at Mid America Motorworks, Mike Yager, underwent quadruple bypass surgery. The surgery was planned, albeit quickly, and not an emergency. The operation went well and the doctors are very happy with the progress Mike is making. We are happy to report that Mike was released from the hospital Monday December 28th and is comfortably recuperating at home. Mike is in the care of Laurie and their kids; he couldn’t be in better hands. We are sure that between his family care and Mike’s eternal optimism, he will have a speedy recovery.
